Job news

So back in May I had a job interview to get a permanent position in the antenatal clinic, where I am currently working. I am still rotating through the maternity services, and due to move onto the birth unit in the last week of August for 6 months, and then onto the post natal ward. I interviewed and then began almost 2 months of ridiculous back and forth from management, where the job description suddenly changed, people were telling me all kinds of different things, we were told we would hear by the end of the week and we didn't end up hearing until the very end of June. Long story short, I didn't get the position, so I was pretty upset. But then I learnt that the position had been completely changed from what had been advertised, the person who got it still has to rotate. Crazy, right!? So then I thought, oh well, who cares. I had kind of come to terms with going back into the Birth Unit, even though I was feeling sad about leaving the clinic because it's such a good team and I love it.

Anyway, today, totally out of the blue, I got a phone call from my unit manager, offering me a job in the clinic!! Turns out the staff member who runs the "Thursday Clinic", which is the clinic for women with mental health issues, drug and alcohol problems, community services involvement, is applying for another job, and to do that she needs to go to the birth unit for 3 months. So she recommended me to take over that clinic, and the manager agreed that I was the best candidate for the job. And it's all been signed off by the various powers that be and I don't have to leave the clinic yet!

So I'm pretty stoked about that. :D
