Easter and after.

It is really hard writing essays and researching for papers when the children are home on holidays. I find myself short tempered and irritable, trying to combine prac, uni work and day to day life. Brett has, of course, been home for the holidays which has taken the pressure off. The kids go back to school the day after tomorrow. I just feel stretched so thin at the moment, I am counting the weeks until the end of semester.

These holidays were fairly uneventful. As I mentioned, I was working for most of them, but Brett took the kids out and about a bit, and they had friends over to play. The weather has been mostly lovely- cooler autumn days but still sunny. Simon has begun to assert his independence by going on solo bike rides around the block. I give him a time to be back by (usually half an hour) and he tells me the route he will take and then off he goes. He's always back on time, with a big grin on his face.

Tomorrow I have to go to the optometerist to get new glasses- bloody Josie stole mine off the table and ate them! That dog- she can be so good at times and then so, so bad. It is lucky she's not a guide dog...
