stuff

Ho hum. It's Sunday morning and chilly today. Last week we had 2 or 3 days of beautiful, warm weather, it was so nice, but we're back to the normal winter stuff now. It's also the end of the holidays, which have gone really fast. We have been busy though. Last week the kids spent 3 days at my parents house. We drove them up there on Wednesday and picked them up yesterday. It was lovely having a few days of peace and quiet! Although we were probably busier without the children here, then when they are here. We went to Ikea after dropping the kids off and bought a new TV unit for the lounge room. So then Brett got to put it together, lol. We also bought 2 bookcases for Declan and Ruby (at a different store) and I put those together. It was a flat-pack extravagnza! We also had time to do some fun stuff, like go out for a brunch at Diggies (a great cafe right on the beach) on Friday morning, and we went out for dinner on Thursday night. For me, the real 'break' is not having to organise anyone, or feed anyone, or dress anyone. It's so nice just having a couple of days off from doing that, and of course the kids had a fantastic time staying at Grandma and Gramp's. Ruby cried most of the way home because she wanted to stay.

Today Brett is out all day, he is running a BBQ to fund-raise for his school band, op at Bunnings Hardware Store near his school. We do them for our school too, they are actually quite good fun, but being there all day will be tiring. So I am looking at the mountain of washing I have to do, and at the grey skies.... Better get cracking.
