Time flies as always. I have spent 2 weeks in Orange, a rural area, on clinical placement where I worked at the local hospital. It was a really,really great experience and gave me lots of confidence. Brett had 2 weeks off work ad stayed home with the kids as "mr mum", which he also enjoyed. Now I am finishing just a few more shifts at Wollongong Hospital and I will be finished the semester. Only 4 and a half months until I am finished my degree. I am in the process of applying for a job for next year.
This has been a strange, up and down year so far. Old worries get soothed and new ones emerge. I feel like my feet aren't quite on the ground these days and I am running to catch up. Simon turned 12 last week and is officially enrolled in High School for next year, which is something I can't quite bring myself to believe.
I am sad today. A dear friend has moved away today, and although I have no doubt I will see her again soon, it feels like I have just got to know her and now she's gone. Facebook is fine, but I will miss chatting in person. But the move is good for her and her family, so I am pleased for her. But oh, I'll miss her.
I've also been really sick for a couple of weeks and it's worn me out. Actually it's been a week of illness all round. Declan has been very unwell with influenza, in fact he did his fainting trick last Saturday, hit his head on the kitchen counter and collapsed unconscious on the floor. So he got an ambulance ride into the hospital which impressed him. I was just happy that he was conscious enough to be impressed.
Tomorrow is my birthday and I will be 38. Geez. I remember my parents being 38, just the other day!! WTF!?
