Angelina!

The English National Ballet were in town last night, performing Angelina Ballerina at the Performing Arts Centre. I had bought tickets last year for Ruby and Declan, after hearing it had been sold out at previous performances. We went into town at about 4.30pm for an early dinner and then walked to the theatre, which was packed with small girls in ballet costumes, Ruby included. Dexie was a bit concerned that there were not many boys there, but then we saw a few boys looking equally concerned, so that was all right. We had great seats as well, only 6 rows back from the stage, up on the first tier, so there was no problem with people blocking the view in front. The ballet was lovely, and the costumes so clever. Nice and short too, with 2, half-hour parts and a 20 minute interval, which was just the right length for the kids. Meanwhile, Simon and Brett had a boys own pizza night at home.

This Monday Simon goes back to the ENT surgeon to check that his polyps haven't regrown. As far as I can tell, they haven't, he appears to be breathing fine through that nostril. My main worry is that Simon will freak out again about having the local anaesthetic spray put up his nose as he did last year. The doctor wasn't able to get a look then, and said that he would have to put Simon under a general if he wasn't able to look properly this time. I have told Simon that while I have great sympathy for him, there are times when one just has to be brave and bear something slightly unpleasant (Which in this case is just a bad taste in his mouth for a few minutes). I have a bag of lollies ready to take in so that he can suck one when he's in the chair, but I tried that last year too and it was no consolation.

4 more days and I find out if I have got into university this year. I am quite nervous.
