Summer Holidays!

Less than a week till Christmas, and we have finally set up the tree. We had a birthday party for Ruby last weekend, and I wanted to wait for that to be over so that Ruby doesn't feel her birthday is just smushed into everything else. Actually her real birthday is this Tuesday, so she will have the Christmas tree up for it anyway.

Last week was a week full of endings. The last playgroup, the last preschool, the last day of school. I held it together pretty well for the playgroup and preschool, though I had to swallow hard around the lump in my throat, but I lost it completely when I went to get the boys from school and found out that Declan's fantastic teacher who was also Simon's teacher last year, will not have a full time position at the school next year. She has always just been a casual teacher, but a 'permanent' casual as they say. However next year there will be a new teacher (what they call a targeted graduate) taking her place. I feel devastated, although she'll be at the school, I'm sad tat Declan won't have her again as a full time teacher. She has obviously known for some time, but hadn't said anything as it was still uncertain if she would be returning at all. Thank goodness she is, because she is one of those people who was born to teach, and I am so thankful that my boys both got to have her as their teacher.
