The BFG

Simon had his first Book Week activity day at school this Thursday. Book Week is something that all schools do, as the name would suggest it is a week all about books and reading. The kids had to choose a book character and dress up for the day. Simon decided (after some gentle 'encouragement' from me) to be the BFG, as we had recently read that great Roald Dahl book. So I went to Spotlight and bought a metre of black fabric and then I (hold onto your hats people!) HEMMED the fabric BY HAND to make a cloak! Yes! I actually sewed something with actual recognisable stitches!!!! This is big news for me as I am not what you would call a domestic goddess. But obviously somewhere in the dark recesses of my mind there is a place where Miss Wrawk's craft classes from primary school are all stored.

So anyway, I made the cloak and then I made a dream trumpet out of the vaccuum cleaner pipe and I made ears and a suitcase from cardboard. How bloody crafty am I, ay?
