a wedding and stuff

hellooooo! So Bianca and I went to that wedding the weekend before last and it was really lovely. I have been to some pretty awful weddings, but this one was genuinely beautiful. The bride and groom both gave heart felt speeches (that didn't go on and on and on), the food was good, it was pretty low key, and the setting was lovely too. Bianca and I sat at a table with some old work friends of hers and they were very nice and easy to talk to. Not that I need much of an excuse to talk, lol. The only down side was that Bianca couldn't enjoy her buffet breakfast because she had a shocker of a hang over... meanwhile I'm tucking into my sausages, eggs, tomatoes, cereal, toast etc etc. LMAO. There are some advantages to not drinking.

Last week I took Simon to see the paediatric surgeon. He's the same one who fixed his hernia 2 years ago, and he only comes down to Wollongong every fortnight. Simon has a funny thing on his heel that looks like a bruise, it has been there since he was a couple of days old, and I had always assumed it was caused by his heel prick test. But our GP thinks it's a bit weird, hence the referral to the lovely (and oh, he is lovely) Dr V. So this week we have to get an ultrasound done, and then possibly an MRI as Dr V thinks it might be an hemangioma, which is like a vascular birthmark. The dramas! I just hope he doesn't want to do anything before Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, I have done NOTHING about it yet. Nothing!!!! I can't even begin to think about it. I know basically what I want to get the kids. Santa is bringing them the dvd of Prehistoric Park, and I guess they'll get some bits and pieces to go in their stockings. But really these children have every toy known to mankind, they don't need anything else, and I know that Brett's family will be giving the big presents as usual, so I think we'll keep things simple. I do need to make the cards and send them, so I will try and do that this week. I wanted to start it last week but it was a write off as we all had gastro and it was like a nightmare. I also need to make the dough for the gingerbread houses, and make the presents for the boy's teachers. I found a really yummy fudge recipe that I will try, as it involves no cooking. yay! Oh, and I also have to buy some new decorations for the tree as I managed to break all but 2 of the glass bauble thingies last year. LOL, this year we will have to decorate the tree from 3 feet up so Ruby can't get anything off it.

And Ruby's birthday is next!!! OMG, whoops, I forgot. See what having a baby close to xmas does to you?? I hadn't even thought about it. I have no idea what to even get her either. Maybe something to do with Fifi and the Flowertots as that is her best show. I know my mum has got her a CareBear for her birthday, her other best show.

anyway, it's hot and muggy and I'd better think about dinner. I have a choice of chicken or chicken.
