school's back

Oh yay yay yay! School is back. I am sooooooooo glad. It's not that I don't like my kids, I really do, but my god I could never do that whole home schooling thing. Anyway we are still having the same problems with Simon going into school everyday. He gets up to the class room where they all line up outside and he starts hanging off my arm and crying and refusing to go in. The teacher always has to come and literally pry his fingers off my arm and then drag him into the room screaming. It's awful and I walk away feeling so down and sad. It's not that he's not enjoying school, he's doing really well and when he comes out at the end of the day he's as happy as Larry and can hardly bear to talk to me as I am sooooo old and boring and just not worth his time. We have a sticker chart for him now to see if that can help.

I really can't wait for Daylight Saving to start this weekend. The sun comes up at like 4.30am and that is really crazy! Ruby wakes up every single day between 5 and 5.30 and is ready to get up as it is broad daylight. I even have blackout curtains on her window but she still wakes. I hear her call me and if I'm lucky she will play in her cot for 10 minutes or so before she gets impatient. So I go in and get her and she's so bright and happy to be awake, it's really quite cute. I get her up and she gives me a big cuddle and then she says, "G'mooky?" which means milk, and then "A carebear?" which obviously means Carebear, her most favouritist video in the whole world. She watches that bloody movie EVERYDAY. I could actually write the whole script here, but I'll refrain. I put in on for her (ain't no way I'm going to be doing anything constructive at 5am) and she starts singing the theme song. LOL, it is so funny! The words are "Care-a-lot is a place where you can go..." blah blah... but Ruby sings "Care ba doo..." in her little high voice. Then she watches it very intently and sometimes I just watch her face to see the expressions. She gets this little tilt to her head and she laughs and then looks worried in the scary part.

You know how things go in three's? OK, so my vacuum cleaner broke first. Fixed that and immediately my oven broke. So now i can only use the cooktop and the griller. And now my washing machine has broken!! What is going on? Do you know how long it takes to handwash a family of five's clothes???? Last night Biance took my washing home with her and did it for me, so that was good. Brett reckons he's going to "have a look at it" on sunday. Hmmmmm. I won't be holding my breath.
