Tomorrow is the last day of term 3, then 2 weeks holidays and we will have only one term left of this school year. All of Declan's enrolment forms have been submitted to Wollongong High and we are still doing his transition program with visits to the high school. This term he did a science enrichment class every Tuesday afternoon at the school, along with other kids from his school and the other feeder primary schools. He really enjoyed it, as he is a science nut, but one really good thing was that he caught the school bus home with Simon afterwards, so he got some practice at doing that. I think it will be a bit of a stressful time next year but I'm hoping he will cope ok with the changes.
I've been doing my new clinic now for a few weeks and I am absolutely loving it. I look forward to going to work each Thursday. It's challenging and tiring, but so, so interesting and I'm learning heaps. Still no idea how long I get to stay in the job, which is dumb and annoying. I know that I'm there at least until the middle of November, so that's something, but still very disruptive and unsettling to have it up in the air. I have given up trying to find out any more than that because I hear different things from different people. I'm just trying to do such an amazing job while I'm there that they won't be able to get rid of me, hahaha ;)
The days are finally getting longer, and it's light when I walk out of work, which I love. It's starting to get warm and I can't wait for summer.
