Just to complicate things

So my poor old car finally gave up the ghost and had to be towed away, dramatically to the wreckers. Yay! Except for the fact that I had to borrow money from my parents to buy a new one and am now in debt to the bank, the credit card company, the Austalian Government (3 university degrees!) and now my mum and dad. Oh well.

My new car is a little Suzuki Swift and it's very nice, very fuel efficient, very safe and very manual transmission. So I can't actually drive it yet. I have wanted to learn a manual car for ages. Brett drives a manual, but seeing as I always had my own car I never bothered to learn, cos I never had to. But I decided that it was a bit embarrassing only knowing auto, and manual cars are cheaper to buy and to run, so I dived in.

I am getting there slooooooowly. It's hard! And I'm old and find it difficult to retain information, and I am already trying to retain the information of how to be a midwife and not kill anyone.

In the middle of trying to relearn driving I am preparing for my job interview which is in a couple of days. It's for the Graduate Year program that you do for the first year of being a Registered Midwife, and my fingers are crossed that I'll get a position because (as always) there are less positions than people.

Wish me luck!
