Ruby spent some of her christmas money today and bought for herself an 'echo microphone.' She is wandering around the house with it, warbling away in her high little voice, making up songs with lyrics like, 'you should be what you are in your hearrrrrrrtttt!" and "we are friends, we always have fuuuuuuuun toooooogether!" She even has the whole Idol pose thing going, holding the microphone in her fingertips of one hand and doing elaborate actions with the other.
We spent Christmas day and night at my parents. It was a low key event, nice to have the family together, but strange without Grandma. Sometimes I miss her very much, sometimes I almost forget she's gone, then I think of something I want to tell her and I remember again. On the way up to sydney on christmas day i was feeling very down, knowing that this year Grandma wouldn't be there. Then something happened- I was just staring out of the car window thinking about grandma, when I happened to notice a street sign we passed. The sign read "Madeline St". Suddenly a wave of contentment just washed over me, it was almost like a sign (literally!) from Grandma, letting me know she's still with us.
