A Day of Luxury!

It is the school holidays and Brett has taken the kids for an overnight trip to visit a little town about 45 minutes drive away. There is a cool old train museum and a lakeside park, and they are staying the night in a hotel. I had originally thought I would be at uni today, but turns out I don't have a tutorial this week, so I, in fact, have TWO WHOLE DAYS to myself! Yes, people! ALONE.

This morning I studied for a while, hung out the washing and did a practice exam for my upcoming Anatomy and Physiology exam. Then i had lunch at a friends place, and then went into town and saw a movie. Oh! It was bliss. I saw Date Night, with Tina Fey and Steve Carrel. It was very funny and quite apt. At one point Steve Carrel's character asks Tina Fey if she has ever thought about leaving him for another man. She says no, of course not! But she has fantasied about going to a hotel on her own, sitting by herself in an airconditoned quiet room and eating her lunch in peace, with a diet Sprite. Ha!! I hear you sister.

I got my roster for the hospital placement in May. We have to be there 4 days a week! Which is a shock, because I had thought it was 2 or 3 days. Anyway, the more experience the better. I am in the antenatal clinic for the whole 3 weeks though, which is a bit annoying as I would have liked to see all the areas, as we are there for a while. I don't get to the birthing unit until August, but at least I'll have plenty of opportunities to recruit the women I need for the follow throughs, and I will get to see their births (I hope). Now to organise childcare for those days!
