October

Well it's been a few weeks now since The Diagnosis, which in reality is mostly about paperwork and little to do with declan himself. We had a follow up visit with karan, the psycholgist, which really was more for me, lol! At least it felt like it, as I felt a huge weight lift from my shoulders as I walked out, it was very reassuring that we are taking the right course of action, neither ignoring it or over reacting. Declan has an Occupational Therapy appointment in a couple of weeks to help with his handwriting, but apart from that there isn't really anything else to do and I'm glad.

School holidays are with us once more, and of course it is raining. We went up to my parents last Saturday for a big family lunch, which was challenging as usual. Josh and Sarah brought the wedding photos and my mother commented that I look 7 months pregnant in them. Thanks! Yes, it is true, the pattern on my dress does make it look like that, but I didn't need to hear it. Then their dog nipped Ruby on her leg and side and no one would accept it, despite the fact that Ruby was crying and holding her leg, and the dog was jumping up with it's teeth bared. Yay for living in Wollongong!

I'm planning a quiet evening tonight. Brett has gone out with a friend, so I'm going to feed hot chips to the children and then watch my TV shows without any interruption.
