A View From the Scaffold.

Only time for a quick entry. As you may have noticed I haven't posted an entry for a while. The past few weeks have been chaotic, crazy, busy, exhausting and did I mention exhausting? Brett and I have been cladding the side and back of the house. When the new addition was built a few years ago it was clad in different boards (ie; nice ones) from what the original part of the house had. So now we have finally got all the same, right the way around. But, bloody hell, what a job!! First we had to demolish the old verandah that came off the second story, now redundant because there are no doors to it anymore. Then we had to rip all the old weatherboards off the house. To do this we hired a scaffold to reach the top story. Next we put in new insulation, then sarking and then finally the new boards. It was very, very hard, but we did it! With a lot of help from our wonderful neighbour when it became a 3 man job. We have also painted all the new boards and put trim around the windows. It looks really great, and I feel very proud! The weather this week has been awful- it actually reached 41 degrees C last week, when I was 3.5 metres up the scaffolding painting the house. I was feeling quite woozy from the heat and had to come inside.

As well as doing the house, the boys have had swimming lessons every morning at 8.30am, and they are making good progress. I take Ruby with me and she and I bob around in the pool while the boys have their lesson. Only a few days left until school goes back!! Where on earth did January go?
