changes.

Can you believe that it is just over a month till Christmas? And a month until Ruby turns 3? The Christmas part I can handle, but I am blown away by the fact that Ruby is going to be 3. That's it!! I officially have 3 big kids. No babies, no toddlers. Next February Ruby starts pre-school and Declan starts big school and i get 2 days to myself! YIPEE!!!!!!

Ruby is turning into such a young lady. She talks, talks, talks all the time. When we go to the shops she entices strangers to talk to her by saying "hello' to them repeatedly until they acknowledge her. Mostly they are old ladies who will chat to her for ages while we're in the check out line, but every now and then someone will ignore her, which really irritates me. Yesterday ruby said "Hewoe lady." very charmingly to an old woman standing behind us at the counter and the woman just looked away! And I know she heard Ruby because Ruby was right in front of her. So Ruby just kept saying helloooooo over and over again at her. Miserable old sod. I mean, really, just say hello to the little girl, ok? It won't kill you. This week at playgroup one of the mums painted the kid's faces and Ruby was a cat. She was so, so proud of her kitty cat face, but she forgot the next morning that the paint had all washed off in the bath. So when she couldn't see her cat face in the bathroom mirror she said "Don't worry Mum, maybe my cat face is in your big mirror." and she took herself off to look. She also likes to dance naked in front of the mirror at every opportunity, and really, who can blame her. I could eat her up, with her smooth little belly and her fuzzy shoulders. But she has grown so much over the past couple of months and she is getting tall and long- legged. My baby has disappeared!

Poor old Dexie is not having a good time at the moment. He is so moody and just plain sad some times. God help you if you try to tell him to do anything or offer a suggestion. I don't know if it's just a stage because things are changing- end of preschool and all that. He is just such a ding-a-ling about so many things, and at the same time, so very, very clever. He pays almost no attention to his own personal space- by that i mean that he still wets his pants all the time, and even poos in his pants, simply because he doesn't notice that he needs to go and then it's too late. It's like it doesn't enter his sphere of reality or something. And I can't help getting irritated about it, it is so frustrating. And I actually don't like cleaning up pooey underpants, surprisingly.
