it's miiiiiiiiiiiiiiine

Dear god i am so sick of the whinging and the whining and the fighting that goes on around here. Monday and Tuesday are the worst because Declan and Ruby fight like cats and dogs. Or rather, Ruby baits Declan by taking things off him and then Declan whinges and shouts at her until I have to stop whatever i'm doing to sort it out. Today it was over blocks. Declan had 7, Ruby had 2, but still Declan carried on for about 15 minutes, whining at her "Rubeeeee, give meee the blocks.... give them to meeeeeee...." on and on and on. It makes me want to scream.

I know it's a terrible thing to say, but i can't wait for Declan to start school! He needs the stimulation and the company, I simply don't have the time or energy to keep him busy all the time. When I drop him off at preschool on the other days, he barely even says goodbye to me, he's straight into whatever activity is there. I know that keeping him back a year was the right thing to do, but oh boy, i am glad this year is nearly over.

Went to the movies on Sunday night to see the Bourne Ulitimatum. It was good, an enjoyable escape from day to day life. Brett's mum and dad minded the kids for a couple of hours and we were home by 9pm. Nice to get out of the house though. We want to go out for dinner soon too, for Brett's birthday which was a couple of weeks ago.

LMAO I made Brett sleep on my side of the bed on Saturday night. Sucked in. See, Ruby sleeps most of the night on a mattress on the floor, next to me. And she is very annoying, between 4 am and 5 am she starts carrying on and wanting to be patted and she dreams loudly and angrily. And on Sunday mornings Brett has his sleep in. So up until now, it has been me, me, me looking after Ruby every night and hanging off the bed so I can hold her foot to keep her quiet, or patting her, or finding whatever lost toy she demands, and then I get up at 6 with her. Enough of that! So last Saturday night I slept on the other side of the bed. And when Ruby called out at 1am, I made Brett go and get her, and then he had to do all the soothing and the aptting and the holding etc. Hahahahahahahahaha. When I got up i said "oh, it's so restful on this side of the bed! Did you sleep well?" Now perhaps he will see that there is, indeed a difference between hearing Ruby in the night and actually having to get up and deal with her in the night. :P
