SRC

Simon has been elected to the Student Representative Council for his class! Last Friday there was a special assembly at school where all the children on the SRC had to make their promise to do their best and be fair etc etc. Simon has to wear his SRC badge everyday and he's very proud of it. I'm really pleased about it, I feel like even though he's a quiet one he is known amongst the teachers and students as someone they can rely on.

Today is Declan's last day at Playgroup. I have booked him into preschool 3 days a week now, starting next week, and he's pretty happy about it. So even though it means shelling out more money I think it will be worth it. The preschool only has 2 other kids on Wednesday at the moment (they are a 15 place centre) because they have only just started operationg on the wednesday. So that will be fantastic for him to get that close attention from the teachers, at least until they start getting more enrollments.

Ruby and I are going up to Sydney on Friday to visit Rena and baby Esther. I can't wait! Esther is about 6 weeks old now, and Rena is doing really well. I've spoken to her on the phone a few times in the past few weeks and it's so nice to hear her enjoying herself so much. I still remember when Rena told me she didn't think she wanted kids because she was worried about being a half-hearted mother! ;)

Oh, we actually took the children out for dinner on Sunday night. To an actual restaurant with real cutlery and no play area. (ok, so it was just Chili's.) But still! We were there for an hour exactly and the last 20 minutes of that was spent with me chasing Ruby around and around the place. But it was quite enjoyable up until then. We ordered the kids hot dogs and chips, which Ruby picked at. When my food arrived she just helped herself from my plate. Thanks. Brett got to eat all his dinner on his own. *sigh*

Well, better start getting everyone ready for school.
